As we begin our Spring Session, lets take a look at what we have been up to here at Anne Sullivan/ Anishinabe Beacons this past winter.

We have had awesome family nights! Our community is fortunate to have Second Harvest Food Pantry join us here at school and supply food for every young person here. We get volunteers from all over, including South High Swimmers, Beacons Staff, Target and families to to help with the events. Some being bagging, loading, packaging and pretty much whatever else needed.

Our past Family Night was also Literacy night. We had teachers and staff stay and run some fun games that encouraged kids and parents to be active readers.

After each game, a young person was able to pick a book of their choice.

This Past session our Youth Advisory, JC'S EXTREME did a lot of planning for our middle school student. One event they planned was our Student Staff basketball game. This was something that gave our young people a chance to step out of normal program and be engaged as a large group as well as build relationships with staff.

Even though our kids put up a great fight and tremendous hustle, Beacons Staff came out on top.

Our Middle School studnets also got a chance to end off a session with a bang. We had an an ice cream social with options from cones, sundaes or root beer floats. No matter what the choice was, it was a fun messy way to celebrate our time here at Beacons.

Even our K-2 got messy and creative with their celebration.
