Welcome to our first post, and what's better then to begin with blogging about the Beacons Funky Fresh Talent Show! The young people's performance last night was awesome! The K-5 students came out and performed some very funky fresh dances, educated us in style, and showed us some sweet Tae Kwan Do moves. Ghostbyrdz shined with cool jumps and break-dance moves, Kindergarteners taught us symmetry with their moves, and Shining Lights and Red Hotts taught us some new dance moves.
The Middle School students showed us who puts the fresh in the funky. Dance groups like the GG Girlz. The Exclusives and SS Stars gave us a refresher course in what dance moves are funky fresh and which are just funky. The teachers caught onto those moves and showed the young people that they too could do the stanky leg. Drumline gave us some awesome beats and a really cool light show. Sam rocked out with his drum solo. Alana, Monet, and Kathy gave us some tunes to sway to, and Beats & Rhymes shared what school and life means to them through their awesome lyrics. American Idol skit got the crowd laughing, and The Step Team ended the show with a tight routine.
The Funky Fresh Talent Show was a great success. We would like to thank all the young people, families and staff that worked to make this such a memorable event! We are excited to see what talents the next Talent Show will bring….

"Last night, on April 2 2009, was an absolutely delightful and pleasant event. With a little bit of FUNKY and a tremendous amount of FRESH. If I do say so myself. I had an absolutely splendid and exhilarating night at the world famous Anne Sullivan Beacons Talent Show. The young people's talent at this event literally knocked my socks off. This night will be talked about for generations and generations to come. YEAH BOI!!!!"
