What is Beacons?
Beacon centers transform school into active youth centers after school and in the summer, providing free high quality youth development opportunities with an emphasis on;
School success…by increasing academic skills, school connectedness, and motivation to learn.
Youth Leadership…by engaging youth through service learning, character development and decision-making opportunities.
Family Engagement…by involving families in decision making and connecting them to the school and community
Community-School Connections…by creating linkages between the school and community-based organizations, businesses, and colleges that can increase opportunities and connections for youth.
Sample schedule:
2:00-3:00pm-Snack and opening circle
3:00-4:00pm-Enrichment activities and homework
(Including Arts and crafts, Healthy kids,
Comic book club, sports, leadership activities and more)
4:00-4:45pm- Choice time and closing circle
When?
Beacons runs after summer school from 2:00-4:45pm, Monday-Thursday.

Tuesday June 19th-Thursday August 2nd

Who?
Beacons after school program is open to any young person K-8th grade
How?
Turn in a completed Beacons registration form to either the Beacons office or school front office. Program is free of charge. Beacons staff will call and confirm enrollment before program begins.
